Introduction
This guide provides detailed instructions on integrating your Mailchimp account with SubscriptionFlow to streamline your marketing efforts. By synchronizing and segmentation of your customers and their subscription data, you can send targeted personalized campaigns to your subscribers/target list and enhance your overall marketing strategy.

By integrating with SubscriptionFlow, your target list can be automatically synced with MailChimp
Prerequisites:
Before getting started, ensure you have the following:
- A SubscriptionFlow account
- A Mailchimp account
- API keys for both SubscriptionFlow and Mailchimp
Instructions to get a Mailchimp integration key
Once your Mailchimp account is created, click on the profile icon.
Select Account & billing from the drop down menu to access your account settings.
Select the Extras tab and choose API keys from the dropdown.
Click the Create a Key button.
Enter the API Key Name and click the Generate Key button.
Your key will be generated. Make sure to copy and save it for use in the integration.
After that, click the Done button.
Your API Key has been generated. You can now review, revoke, or generate a new API key as needed.
Integrate Mailchimp with Your SubscriptionFlow Portal
Log in to your instance and navigate to the Administration Settings module from the top-right side of the header. Then, click on Apps in the Apps & APIs section.
Next, select Mailchimp to integrate it with your system.
Enter your saved key and click the Connect button.
Mailchimp will be successfully integrated and installed with your system, and the status will be set to active. Users will have the option to uninstall it if needed.
Users will have three options: App Details, Configurations, and Logs.
App Details
The App Details section will display information about the app, including the username, installation date, and the items that can be synchronized with Mailchimp.
Configurations
Configurations tab will show the following details, User can manage target list audience in the configuration tab.
Users can create or manage target lists by clicking on the Manage Target List button. At the bottom, there is a Manage Target List link button.
Clicking this button will redirect you to the Target List screen.
From there, you can either create a new target list by clicking the Create Target List button or edit an existing one by clicking on its name in the name column.
Logs
Logs will display all related activities. For example, if a user selects a customer with a dummy or invalid email address, the system will not synchronize that customer with Mailchimp, resulting in an error. Mailchimp does not accept customer emails that are dummy or invalid. Emails must be real and valid.
Instructions for Creating a Target List in Your SubscriptionFlow Instance
Creating a Target List Audience in SubscriptionFlow
- Enter a Name: Give your Target List Audience a descriptive name (e.g., "Active Subscribers").
- Select Status: Choose whether the Target List should be Enabled or Disabled.
- Choose a List: Select the desired list from the dropdown. This list will be fetched directly from your Mailchimp account.
- Select Tags: Choose the relevant tags from the dropdown. These tags are created in Mailchimp and will filter the audience based on subscriber attributes.
- Add a Description (Optional): Provide a brief description to help you remember the purpose of this Target List.
- Save: Click the "Save" button to finalize your Target List Audience.
Instructions to create Tags in Mailchimp
Visit mailchimp.com, sign in, and navigate to the Audience section from the side menu. Select "Tags" from the audience options, then click the "Create Tag" button.
Note: Before creating a Target List, make sure to create tags in Mailchimp first. These tags will then appear in the dropdown menu when setting up the Target List.

Enter Tag name, and click on the Create button.
The user can view the tag details by clicking the View button.
The user interface allows for viewing tag details, filtering multiple tags, editing existing segments, or saving segments as new ones.
Clicking the arrow button next to the 'View' button allows users to perform various actions on the tag, including renaming, deleting, exporting as CSV, and sending different types of campaigns: regular, A/B, plain text, and RSS
Once the tag is created, we can now create a target list from the portal and can assign subscribers/customers/contacts to this tag.
Instructions to assign Customers to the Target List in Subscription Flow instance
To Assign Customers to a Target List Audience:

Navigate to the Target Lists Screen:
- Access the portal and locate the "Target Lists" option in the side drawer.
- Click on "Target Lists" to view all available target lists.

Edit Existing Target Lists (Optional):
- If necessary, modify existing target lists by clicking on the desired list and making the necessary changes.

Select a Target List Audience:
- Choose the target list audience to which you want to assign customers.
- Note that you can create multiple target list audiences for different campaigns.
To Assign Customers to a Target List for Email Marketing:

Select the Target List:
- Choose the "Email Marketing" target list from the available options.

Navigate to the Detail Screen:
- Clicking on the selected target list will take you to its detail screen.

View Target List Information:
- Review the target list's details, including its history and any associated notes.

Assign Customers:
- Go to the "Customers" tab within the detail screen.
- Click on the "Assign" button to add customers to the target list.
Select Customers: Choose customers with valid email addresses from the list. You can select multiple customers.
Confirm Assignment: After selecting the desired customers, click on the "Assign" button
Once the customer is assigned, it will then take to the previous screen.
Now, go to the Mailchimp portal and refresh the page. You will notice that the customer data is being synced with Mailchimp.
Note: Please be aware that this is not a two-way sync. Only customers added through the portal will be synced, not the other way around.
Instructions to assign Leads to the target list
To Assign Leads to a Target List for Email Marketing:

Select the Target List:
- Choose the "Email Marketing" target list from the available options.

Navigate to the Detail Screen:
- Clicking on the selected target list will take you to its detail screen.

Assign Leads:

- Go to the "Leads" tab within the detail screen.
- Click on the "Assign" button.
- Select Leads: Choose leads with valid email addresses from the list.
- Confirm Assignment: After selecting the desired leads, click on the "Assign" button.

Leads will be successfully added. Now, go to the Mailchimp portal and refresh the page. You will notice that the customer data is being synced with Mailchimp.
