1. Overview
SubscriptionFlow App is your complete subscription management solution for Shopify. It helps you create, manage, and track subscription products and customer subscriptions all from one easy-to-use dashboard.
Whether you're selling subscription boxes, monthly product deliveries, or recurring services, SubscriptionFlow App gives you everything you need to build and grow your subscription business. The app works seamlessly with Shopify's built-in subscription features, so you can focus on your products while the app handles the management.
With SubscriptionFlow App, you can view all your subscription products, see how many plans are attached to each product, track active customer subscriptions, and manage subscription contracts—all without leaving your Shopify admin.

3. Getting Started
3.1 Installation
- Install SubscriptionFlow App from the Shopify App Store.
- After installation, the app will automatically connect to your Shopify store.
- Open the app from your Shopify admin sidebar under Apps → SubscriptionFlow App.
- First-time users: You'll be automatically redirected to the Onboarding page to set up your SubscriptionFlow account. Complete the onboarding process before accessing the main dashboard.
- Returning users: You'll land on the Home page, which shows all products with subscription plans.
3.2 First Steps

Complete Onboarding (First Time Only):
- When you first open the app, you'll be redirected to the Onboarding page.
- Fill in your company information, personal details, currency, and country.
- Submit the form to create your SubscriptionFlow workspace.
- Wait 5 minutes for your workspace to be provisioned, then copy your workspace link.
- Once onboarding is complete, you'll have full access to the app.

Create subscription plans for your products:
- Go to your Shopify admin → Products.
- Open a product you want to sell on subscription.
- Scroll down to the Purchase options section.
- Click Add purchase option and configure your subscription plan (delivery frequency, discounts, etc.).
- Save the product.

View your subscription products:
- Return to SubscriptionFlow App.
- Your products with subscription plans will appear on the Home page.

Set up the subscription widget (optional):
- Click the Guide button in the app navigation.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions to add the subscription widget to your product pages.

4. Onboarding - Account Setup
When you first install SubscriptionFlow App, you'll need to complete the onboarding process to set up your SubscriptionFlow workspace. This is a one-time setup that creates your tenant account and provisions your subscription management environment.
4.1 Accessing Onboarding
Onboarding is automatically triggered when you first open the app. If you haven't completed onboarding yet, you'll be redirected to the Onboarding page automatically. You can also access it anytime by clicking the Onboarding button in the app navigation.
4.2 Onboarding Form
The onboarding form collects the following information:
- Company Name: Your business name. This is used to generate your workspace domain (e.g., "mycompany" becomes "mycompany.subscriptionflow.com").
- Full Name: Your personal name for the account.
- Email: Your email address for notifications and account access.
- Password: Your account password (must be at least 8 characters).
- Currency: Your primary business currency.
- Country: Your business country location.

4.3 Submitting the Form
After filling in all required fields, click Submit to create your SubscriptionFlow workspace. The system will:
- Validate your information
- Create your tenant account
- Generate your workspace domain
- Provision your subscription management environment
4.4 Success Screen
After successful submission, you'll see a success screen with:
- Success Message: Confirmation that your workspace request has been submitted.
- Workspace Link: Your unique SubscriptionFlow workspace URL.
- Schedule Call Button: Option to book a meeting with the onboarding team for personalized setup assistance.
- Continue to Dashboard Button: Proceed to the main app dashboard.

4.5 Onboarding Resources
The onboarding page includes helpful resources:
- Video Tutorial: Watch a 90-second overview video showing the provisioning process and go-live steps.
- SubscriptionFlow Insights: Key information about automated tenant provisioning, domain reservation, and support options.
- Support Contact: Email support at onboarding@subscriptionflow.com for assistance.
5. Home Page - Subscription Products
The Home page is your main dashboard for viewing all products that have subscription plans. This is where you'll see which products are set up for subscriptions and quickly access them for editing.

5.1 What You'll See
The product list shows:
- Product Image: Visual thumbnail of each product.
- Product Title: The name of your product.
- Status: Whether the product is Active (published) or Draft (not yet published).
- Inventory: Current stock levels.
- Price: Base price of the product.
- Plans: Number of subscription plans attached to this product.
5.2 Filtering Products
Use the filter buttons at the top of the product list:
- All: Shows every product that has at least one subscription plan.
- Active: Shows only published products that customers can purchase.
- Draft: Shows products that are saved but not yet published.
5.3 Actions Available
- Edit Product: Click the Edit button next to any product to open the Shopify product editor. From there, you can modify the product details, pricing, or subscription plans.
- View Contracts: Navigate to the Contracts tab to see all active subscriptions for your products.
6. Contracts Tab - Customer Subscriptions
The Contracts tab is where you manage all customer subscriptions. Here you can see who has active subscriptions, view subscription details, and take actions like pausing or cancelling subscriptions.

6.1 Statistics Dashboard
At the top of the Contracts tab, you'll see three summary cards that give you a quick overview:
- Active: Total number of subscriptions that are currently active and billing customers.
- Paused: Number of subscriptions that are temporarily paused (billing and deliveries stopped).
- Cancelled: Number of subscriptions that have been cancelled.
These numbers update in real-time, so you always have an accurate view of your subscription business health.
6.2 Subscription Contract List
Below the statistics, you'll see a table listing all subscription contracts. Each row shows:
- Contract ID: A unique identifier for the subscription. Click it to view full details.
- Customer: The customer's name who has this subscription.
- Product: The product name included in this subscription.
- Price: The subscription price and currency.
- Delivery Frequency: How often the customer receives deliveries (e.g., "Every month").
- Status: A colored badge showing whether the subscription is Active, Paused, or Cancelled.
6.3 Filtering Contracts
Use the filter buttons to view specific subscription types:
- All: Shows every subscription contract.
- Active: Shows only subscriptions that are currently active.
- Paused: Shows subscriptions that are temporarily paused.
- Cancelled: Shows subscriptions that have been cancelled.
6.4 Viewing Contract Details
Click any Contract ID to open the detailed view. The contract details page is divided into sections:

Left Side - Subscription Information:
- Subscription Details: Product information, pricing, discounts, and delivery frequency.
- Payment Summary: Breakdown of subtotal, shipping, tax, and total amount.
- Upcoming Orders: List of future delivery dates. You can skip individual deliveries if needed.
Right Side - Customer Information:
- Customer Details: Customer name, email, and contact information.
- Shipping Address: Where the subscription products are delivered.
- Payment Method: The payment card on file (last 4 digits and expiry date).
6.5 Managing Subscriptions
From the contract details page, you can take actions to manage the subscription:
Pause a Subscription:
- Open the contract details page.
- Click the Pause button at the top.
- Confirm the action in the popup dialog.
- The subscription status will change to Paused, and billing and deliveries will stop until you resume it.
Cancel a Subscription:
- Open the contract details page.
- Click the Cancel subscription button.
- Review the warning message and confirm.
- The subscription will be marked as Cancelled, and future billing will stop permanently.
6.6 Export and Import
Use the Export and Import buttons at the top of the Contracts tab to download subscription data for reporting or to import subscription information in bulk.
7. Setup Guide
SubscriptionFlow App includes a built-in Setup Guide to help you get everything configured. Access it by clicking the Guide button in the app navigation.

7.1 What the Guide Covers
The Setup Guide walks you through four main steps:
Step 1: Create Purchase Options
- How to add subscription plans to your products using Shopify's Purchase Options feature.
- Configuring delivery frequencies and discounts.
- Selecting which product variants should have subscription options.
Step 2: Add Widget Block
- Adding the SubscriptionFlow Widget to your product pages.
- Using the theme editor to place the widget where customers can see it.
- Testing the widget on your storefront.
Step 3: Customer Portal
- Understanding the customer portal URL where customers manage subscriptions.
- How customers access their subscription management page.
- Customizing the portal URL if needed.
Step 4: App Embed Settings
- Enabling the SubscriptionFlow app embed for order status pages.
- Allowing customers to manage subscriptions from their order confirmation emails.
The guide includes direct links to open the relevant Shopify admin pages, making setup quick and easy.
8. Adding SubscriptionFlow Widget to Product Pages
The SubscriptionFlow Widget displays subscription options directly on your product pages, making it easy for customers to choose a subscription plan when viewing products. This widget shows all available subscription plans for the product and allows customers to select their preferred delivery frequency.
8.1 Step-by-Step Guide to Add the Widget
Follow these steps to add the SubscriptionFlow Widget to your product pages:

Open Theme Editor:
- Go to your Shopify admin.
- Navigate to Online Store → Themes.
- Click Customize next to your active theme.

Select Product Template:
- In the theme editor, use the template dropdown at the top.
- Select Product from the list of templates.
- This opens the product page template for editing.

Navigate to Product Information Section:
- In the left sidebar, look for the Product information section.
- Click on it to expand and see the available blocks.

Add SubscriptionFlow Widget Block:
- Click the + (Add block) button in the Product information section.
- In the block picker, search for SubscriptionFlow Widget or SubscriptionFlow.
- Click on the SubscriptionFlow Widget block to add it to your product page.

Position the Widget:
- Drag the SubscriptionFlow Widget block to position it where you want it to appear.

Common positions include:
- Above the "Add to cart" button (recommended)
- Below the product description
- In a dedicated subscription section

Save Your Changes:
- Click Save in the top right corner of the theme editor.
- The widget will now appear on all product pages that have subscription plans configured.

8.2 Widget Features
The SubscriptionFlow Widget automatically displays:
- All Available Plans: Shows all subscription plans configured for the product.
- Delivery Frequencies: Displays options like "Every month", "Every 2 weeks", etc.
- Pricing Information: Shows subscription price, any discounts, and savings compared to one-time purchase.
- Easy Selection: Customers can easily switch between one-time purchase and subscription options.
9. Support
