SubscriptionFlow lets you set up your taxes using SubscriptionFlow’s internal tax engine or through the use of Avalara tax codes.
- From settings click on “Taxes” under Billing.
- Create a new tax or a tax group based on your needs.
3. If you wish to use Avalara tax codes that are linked to the type of product or service you are selling, go to the Avalara tax code page (https://taxcode.avatax.avalara.com/).
4. Search for the product/services you are selling. In this example, consider a SaaS tool sold from business to consumer. Copy the tax code above it.
5. Now go back to Taxes from Settings and create a new tax. Select the Avalara Tax Engine and choose which company linked to this Avalara account will be collecting this tax.
6. Give this tax a name to identify it within the system and paste the Avalara tax code in the relevant field. Then hit save.
7. Now select the SaaS product you wish to tax using this newly created SaaS product tax.
8. Locate the plan you wish to tax and click edit.
9. In the expanded view, check taxable and set the tax as inclusive or exclusive of your list price. Then from the Tax Code dropdown, select your tax and click save. This plan will now be taxed accordingly during checkout and any tax collected will be added to your tax report inside Avalara.
