SubscriptionFlow automatically generates checkout URLs with some mandatory fields at the time of plan creation. However, the field selection, branding, and look and feel of this checkout form are endlessly customizable within the system.
Part 2: Plan Settings (Basic Configurations)
Part 3: Plan Settings (Advanced Configurations)
This detailed guide will walk you through the process of customising your checkout pages.
- From the dashboard, click the gear icon in the top right to enter your settings.
- In the administration settings, click on 'Web Checkout' under Customization. This is our design studio for checkout customization.
- Click on 'Designer'.
Part 1: Designer
Inside the designer, separate tabs exist to customise the checkout summary view, customer information, address, layout, payment labels, etc.
Section 1: Checkout Summary
4. In the Checkout Summary tab, under basic settings, you can add or remove the coupon functionality, as well as the tax exclusive tag next to the plan price. The checkout preview on the right dynamically displays any changes made to the checkout form.
5. Under More Settings, assign your labels to fields such as Quantity, Subtotal, Total, and Add Ons, etc. The subscription start date field lets your subscriber select a date at which their subscription is activated & will be charged subsequently.
6. You can also orchestrate how you wish to show add ons through the open/collapse checkbox and enable a plan variation section.
7. Remember to save your changes.
Section 2: Customer Information
8. Under the customer information section you can select what fields you want enabled to collect contact details. Note that some fields (last name & email) are mandatory because the system requires them to create a new customer. Save your changes.
Section 3: Address
9. The Address section is divided into Billing Address, Shipping Address & More Settings. Under Billing Address decide what fields to mark as mandatory and give them the labels you prefer. Note that some fields are mandatory by default to register a complete address.
10. Do the same for fields in the Shipping Address tab.
11. Under More Settings you will find two important checkboxes. The Address Widget Functionality transforms your fields based on the country selection. For example, inside the United States, your customers will be asked to enter their state, but for China they will instead see a field to enter their province.
12. If you enable Address Location Validation you can restrict checkout to exclude some countries, states or zip codes that you do not currently offer shipping to. After checking this box you can add a country, state or zip code that is restricted and returns an error message informing the customer that you are not available in their region at the moment.
Section 4: Layout
13. The layout tab lets you tailor the look and feel of your checkout experience. In the basic tab, choose the title and profile image to be displayed in the browser tab.
14. Under More Settings you can edit the font family, text color, header size and input field radius to finetune your checkout. Save changes. You can also format the CTA button for branding purposes.
Section 5: Payment Labels
15. Next, enable your default payment gateway and set payment labels for the credit card and bank transfer tabs.
16. Under More Settings you can also create a Manual payments tab and select what instructions are displayed when a customer selects this tab.
Section 6: Other Labels
17. The other labels section lets you brand your header with your company logo & name. You can also use the shortcuts mentioned to upload these details from your Business Profile on SubscriptionFlow.
18. This section also lets you decide what confirmation message appears in response to successful checkout, the activation of a trial and a pending payment.
Section 7: Terms & Conditions
19. The Terms & Conditions section lets you decide if agreeing to the terms of service is mandatory, what labels should be used to inform customers about checkout security, terms of service and privacy policy etc. You can also add URLs that each of these labels redirect to.
20. Typically these URLs should take the customer to your terms of service & privacy policy pages where they can make an informed purchase. You may also decide on a more granular level what terms & privacy settings should be included/ excluded and which of these is mandatory to proceed with the checkout.
21. Under More Settings you can enable recaptcha and add a license image and text.
Section 8: Sections
22. Under the Sections tab you can create & add your custom sections as well.
