This guide shows you how to import gift evergreen and termed subscriptions, after first successfully importing Customers, Products & Plans.

Step 1: File Prep
First prepare your file for import.
Use any spreadsheet software to organize your data and export to a CSV format in the final step. For detailed guides on how to import evergreen and termed subscriptions refer to their respective guides.
Termed Gift Subscriptions
The following columns/fields are required for the successful import of termed gift subscriptions.
Subscription | |
Customer id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific customer. |
Term Initial Period* | A numeric value quantifying the span of the term in which the subscription will be active. e.g. 12, 6 etc. |
Term Initial Period Type* | The unit of time that defines the initial term in which the subscription will be active. e.g. month, year etc. |
Term Start Date* | A date corresponding to the day the subscription is activated and the initial term commences. |
Gift Subscription* | A boolean true/false parameter labeling a subscription as a gift or not. (1 = gift, 0 = not gift) |
Gift Recipient* | The 25-string contact ID of the gift recipient. |

Product id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific product being purchased. |
Plan id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific plan linked to this product. |
Evergreen Gift Subscriptions
The following columns/fields are required for the successful import of evergreen gift subscriptions.
Subscription | |
Customer id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific customer. |
Subscription Start Date* | A date at which the subscription is activated. |
Gift Subscription* | A true/false parameter labeling a subscription as a gift. (1 for true/yes, 0 for false/no) |
Gift Recipient* | The 25-string contact ID of the gift recipient. This must correspond to a contact of the customer. |
Line Items | |
Product id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific product being purchased. |
Plan id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific plan linked to this product. |
Step 2: File Upload
- Enter the ‘Subscriptions’ module from your dashboard. Click on 'Import Subscriptions’ if you are onboarding, or the 'Import' button in the top right for subsequent imports.
- Next, select the type of subscriptions you are importing depending on whether your gift subscriptions are evergreen, termed or include both types.
- Under ‘Advanced Configurations’ you can enable the required fields for gift subscriptions. Then click on ‘Start Import’.
- Browse and upload your CSV file.
- Here is some sample data.
- The csv has been uploaded. Click ‘Next’.
Step 3: Field Mapping
- Next, map the fields in your file to the fields inside SubscriptionFlow. (For a detailed mapping guidance go to our guide on importing termed subscriptions.)
- Select your import preferences and click ‘Next’.

- Allow the import to complete and go back to the subscriptions module to see new gift subscriptions that were created via import.
Step 4: Troubleshooting Errors
- If your records were not created, go to ‘Administration Settings’ and then ‘Imports’.
- Click on the import you want to troubleshoot.
12. Scroll to the far right to find any errors that occurred during import that caused it to fail.
And just like that you have imported gift subscriptions (both termed and evergreen)
