This guide shows you how to import trial subscriptions. It is important to first import your customers, products, and plans.

Step 1: File Prep
First, prepare your import file. Organize data through any spreadsheet software and export to CSV format.
Follow the detailed guide on how to import evergreen and termed subscriptions. For trial subscriptions, the following additional fields are also required.

Trial Period* | A numerical value defining the duration of the trial. |
Trial Period Unit* | Either 'day' or 'month' to specify period type linked to the numeric trial period value. |
Step 2: File Upload
- Enter the ‘Subscriptions’ module from your dashboard. Click on 'Import Subscriptions’ if you are onboarding or the 'Import' button in the top right for subsequent imports.
- Next, select the type of subscriptions you are importing depending on whether your trials are evergreen, termed or both.
- Under ‘Advanced Configurations’ you can enable the required fields for trial subscriptions. Then click on ‘Start Import’.
- Browse and upload your CSV file.
- Here is some sample data. Note that it contains the required fields for trial subscriptions.
- The csv has been uploaded. Click ‘Next’.
Step 3: Field Mapping
- Map the fields in your file to the fields inside SubscriptionFlow. (For a detailed mapping guidance go to our guide on importing termed subscriptions.)
- Select your date format and import preferences. Then click ‘Next’.

- Allow the import to complete.
10. Scroll to the right to see if your records were successfully imported/updated or failed to import.
11. Navigate back to the Subscriptions module. Click on ‘More’ and ‘Edit Columns’.
12. Select ‘Trial Period’ (and/or ‘Trial Expiry’) to be visible.
13. You will be able to see the new/updated trial subscriptions that were created via import.
Step 4: Troubleshooting Errors
- If your records are not created, go to ‘Administration Settings’ and then ‘Imports’.
- Click on the import you want to troubleshoot.
12. Scroll to the far right to find any errors that caused the import to fail.
And just like that you have imported trial subscriptions.
