This guide shows you how to import gift evergreen and termed subscriptions, after first successfully importing Customers, Products & Plans.

Step 1: File Prep
First prepare your file for import.
Use any spreadsheet software to organize your data and export to a CSV format in the final step. For detailed guides on how to import evergreen and termed subscriptions refer to their respective guides.
Termed Paused/Canceled/Expired Subscriptions
The following columns/fields are required for the successful import of paused/canceled/expired subscriptions that are termed. Note that the fields with a black asterisk are not required but are essential to define the paused, expired, and canceled statuses.
Subscription | |
Customer id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific customer. |
Term Initial Period* | A numeric value quantifying the term in which the subscription will be active. e.g. 12, 6, etc. |
Term Initial Period Type* | The unit of time that defines the initial term in which the subscription will be active. e.g. month, year, etc. |
Term Start Date* | A date corresponding to the day the subscription is activated and the initial term commences. |
Canceled at (*) | The date on which the subscription was canceled. |
Paused at (*) | The date at which the subscription was paused/suspended. |
Resumed at (*) | The date at which the subscription was resumed. |
Line Items | |
Product id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific product being purchased. |
Plan id* | A unique identifier tying a subscription to a specific plan that is attached to this product. |
Evergreen Paused/Canceled/Expired Subscriptions
The following columns/fields are required for the successful import of paused/canceled/expired subscriptions that are evergreen. Note that the fields with a black asterisk (*) are not required but are essential to define the paused, expired, and canceled statuses.

Step 2: File Upload
1. Enter the ‘Subscriptions’ module from your dashboard. Click on 'Import Subscriptions’ if you are onboarding or the 'Import' button in the top right for subsequent imports.
2. Next, select the type of subscriptions you are importing. Under ‘Advanced Configurations’ select Yes for the “Are you going to import any Paused/Expired subscriptions?” option.
3. Browse and upload your CSV file.
4. Here is some sample data.
5. The CSV has been uploaded. Click ‘Next’.
Step 3: Field Mapping
6. Next, map the fields in your file to the fields inside SubscriptionFlow. (For a detailed mapping guidance go to our guide on importing termed subscriptions.) Note that the ‘Cancel at’, ‘Resume at’, and ‘Pause at’ fields are not required but should be present if applicable.
7. Select your date format & import preferences and click ‘Next’.

8. Allow the import to complete and go back to the subscriptions module to see new paused/expired/cancelled subscriptions that were created via import.
Step 4: Troubleshooting Errors
9. If your records were not created, go to ‘Administration Settings’ and then ‘Imports’.
10. Click on the import you want to troubleshoot.
11. Scroll to the far right to find any errors that occurred during import that caused it to fail.
And just like that you have imported paused/expired/canceled subscriptions.
