Miscellaneous charges refer to any charge that is added in addition to the list price of the item/s being purchased. This may be a delivery fee, platform fee or credit card transaction fee etc. To add a miscellaneous charge to the invoice follow these steps:
- Click on the gear-shaped Administration Settings icon on the control panel in the right-hand corner of the dashboard.
- On the Administration Settings page, under the heading Customization, click on Preferences.
- On the Preferences page, click on the Transactions button in the control panel.
- Under the Miscellaneous Charges section, click on the +Add Rule button.
- A pop-up window will open where you can enter: the misc charge title, type, charge type (fixed or percentage), and charge value.
- Select a Payment Type that this miscellaneous charge will apply to. For example, for a credit card processing fee, you will select only payments through a credit card.
- Next, select a Charge Type that may be fixed or a percentage of the total transaction.
- Then add a Charge Value. If you add 2 with the percentage charge type, 2% of the total amount will be added as a miscellaneous charge. If you add 2 with the fixed charge type, 2 units of your default currency e.g. 2 USD will be added irrespective of the transaction amount. Click Save.
- Your new rule has been created.
- Now click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page. Your miscellaneous charges have been saved and will now be added to the invoices and transactions as per the defined criteria.
That is how you add a miscellaneous charge to your transactions.
