Unlink Projected Invoices

In order to properly invoice usage, go to Administration Settings > Customization > Preferences > Projected Invoices. Make sure Linking Transactions is disabled. Save changes.

Note: Linking transactions when enabled create future invoices from past projected invoices. In the case of usage, the projected invoice must incorporate usage charges and be regenerated on the next billing date. This option is disabled by default but may be enabled by the user at some point, which would interfere with usage-based invoicing.
