1. Now that your usage-based plan is set up, create a usage subscription for a customer. From the Customers module, select a customer and then click on ‘+ New Subscription’. To learn how to create a subscription for a customer go here.
2. You may also create a subscription from the Subscriptions module through the '+ Create Subscription' button. To learn how to create a subscription for a customer go here.
3. At the end when setting a quantity for the product plan, set it to zero (0). The system already knows that usages are billed at the end of the service period, based on how much of the product was utilized during this time frame. Click ‘Save’.
- A usage-based subscription is created and listed under the Subscriptions list at the bottom of the customer detailed view. This subscription will also be visible within the Subscriptions module.
- If you go to the Invoices list, you will see that no invoice was generated for the subscription in advance. This is because the subscription plan carries usage-based charges billed at the end of the service period. You will also find no invoice for this subscription in the Invoices module.
