This guide shows how to install the SubscriptionFlow App on your BigCommerce store, what the app sets up for you, and how to check that everything is in place. Installing takes about 5 minutes.
Before You Start
You need:
- A BigCommerce store, and to be its store owner (or a user allowed to install apps).
You don't need a SubscriptionFlow account yet — the app creates your workspace during onboarding. If you already have one, you can connect it instead.
Step 1 -Install the App
- Go to the BigCommerce App Marketplace.
- Search for SubscriptionFlow.
- Open the SubscriptionFlow App listing.
- Click Get this app, log in to your store if asked, then click Install.

Step 2 -Approve the Permissions
BigCommerce shows what the app needs access to. Review the list and click Confirm. Here is what each permission is used for:
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| Products | Adds the Subscribe & Save choice to the products you pick, and saves their subscription settings. |
| Content | Adds the subscription widget and the customer portal to your storefront, and creates the Manage Subscriptions page. |
| Orders | Turns new subscription orders into subscriptions, and creates an order for every renewal. |
| Order Transactions | Reads the checkout payment, so renewals can be charged to the card the customer paid with. |
| Information & Settings | Reads your store's basic details, such as its currency. |
| Channel Settings | Saves your widget settings (heading, layout, colour) for your storefront. |
| Storefront API Tokens | Lets the widget read each product's subscription options on your storefront. |
Figure 2: Approving the app's permissions
BigCommerce finishes the installation and opens the app. The first time, it takes you to the Onboarding page.
Step 3 -What the App Sets Up for You
During installation the app adds these automatically — there is nothing to do:
| What | Where to find it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| SubscriptionFlow Widget | Storefront → Script Manager | Shows Subscribe & Save on the product pages you add subscriptions to. |
| SubscriptionFlow Portal | Storefront → Script Manager | Shows the customer portal on the Manage Subscriptions page. |
| Manage Subscriptions page | Storefront → Web Pages (/manage-subscriptions) |
Where signed-in customers pause, cancel and update their subscriptions. |
| Order and product notifications | Runs in the background | Sends new subscription orders to SubscriptionFlow, and updates the plans when you change a product's price. |
Step 4 -Check the Installation
- Apps → My Apps: the SubscriptionFlow App is listed as installed.
- Storefront → Script Manager: SubscriptionFlow Widget and SubscriptionFlow Portal are listed.
- Storefront → Web Pages: the Manage Subscriptions page is listed.
- Open the app (Apps → SubscriptionFlow App): you see the Onboarding page.

Step 5 -Next: Set Up Your Subscriptions
The app is installed. Now follow the user guide to:
- Complete the onboarding form (creates your SubscriptionFlow workspace).
- Add subscription options to your products.
- Check the widget on a product page.
- Link the customer portal from your storefront menu.
- Give our team collaborator access, so we can help you.
