Make a Plan Price Taxable

Apply a tax to a plan price so that every new subscription and invoice for that price is taxed automatically. You choose the tax, and whether the tax is added on top of the price or already included in it.

Before You Start

The tax you want to apply must already exist under Settings → Administration Settings → Taxes. If it does not, see Taxes in SubscriptionFlow: Overview and Setup.

Make an Existing Price Taxable

1. Go to the Products module and open the product that contains the plan.

2. Find the plan. Its prices are listed under Pricing.
3. On the price you want to tax, click the … (more actions) button and choose Edit price.

4. In the Edit price dialog, select Taxable.
5. Choose a Tax mode:
   • Tax Exclusive: tax is added on top of the price.
   • Tax Inclusive: the price already includes tax.
6. In Tax code, select the tax. The list shows the taxes and tax groups from your Taxes settings.
7. Click Update price.

Note: Changes made to a price apply to new subscriptions only. Existing subscriptions are not affected.

Set Tax When You Create a Plan or Price

You can set the same options when you first create a price. Click Add Plan or Add price, select Taxable, choose the Tax mode, and select the Tax code.

To open the Taxes settings from this dialog, click Configure tax settings.

Example

A $299.00 monthly price set to Tax Exclusive with Sales Tax (8%) is invoiced as:

Confirm the Setting Was Saved

Reopen the price with Edit price and check that Taxable, Tax mode and Tax code show your choices.
