This guide provides clear instructions to assist you with the Xero data import process using SubscriptionFlow. By following these steps, you’ll be able to integrate Xero with your account and import data seamlessly.
Step 1: Log in to Your Admin Account
- Log into your SubscriptionFlow admin account.
- Ensure you have the required permissions to access the Apps and API settings.
Step 2: Install and Activate Xero
Navigate to the Gear Icon:
-
- From your dashboard, locate and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
Go to Apps:
- Under API & Integrations, click Apps.
Choose Xero from Accounting Apps:
- Under the Accounting Apps category, find and select Xero.
Connect to Your Xero Account:
- Follow the prompts to connect your SubscriptionFlow account with your Xero account.
- Once connected, keep the configurations as default unless otherwise required.
Step 3: Start the Data Import Process
Return to the Gear Icon:
- Click on the gear icon again to access additional settings.
Data Administration Section:
- This time, click Imports under Data Administration.
Initiate the Import:
- On Import Data, the New Import tab lists the sources you can import from.
Step 4: Choose What to Import
Choose Xero as Your Import Source:
- Under Accounting Apps, click Xero.
- If Xero isn't connected yet, a dialog says Please Connect Xero App. Connect it first (Step 2), then come back.
- If Xero is connected, Import from Xero opens. SubscriptionFlow checks your connection and shows the Strategy (for example Import New Data: records whose email already exists in SubscriptionFlow are skipped) and the estimated time.
Select the data to import:
- Under Select data to import, both modules are ticked:
- Contacts: imported as SubscriptionFlow customers.
- Invoices: imported as invoices, linked to the imported customers.
- Untick a module you don't need, then click Continue with N modules. SubscriptionFlow creates the field mappings and opens the mapping review.
The Import from page works the same way for every app. See Stripe Import Utilities for screenshots of each part.
Step 5: Review the Mapping and Monitor the Import
- Review the field mappings, adjust them if needed, and start the import. The mapping and settings steps are the same as for a file import; see Customers Import.
- Your data import will now be in progress. You can follow it on Imports › History, where the import status is updated.
