For customers to edit their subscriptions they need portal access. Learn how to enable portal access here.
- Once their portal is active, your customer receives an email with credentials to access the portal.
- Signing in, lands them on the portal dashboard with their subscriptions, invoices and payment methods.
- To edit a subscription they must enter the Subscriptions module. Here the customer can see all their active/paused/canceled subscriptions with their payment status.
Adding a New Subscription
- Click on ‘+New Subscription’.
- Scroll down to see available plans and add the one you want to subscribe to by clicking on the cart icon.
- Review the subscription you are about to create. You may add a coupon or remove this plan from your cart. Click ‘Create Subscription’.
- The new subscription is created successfully and pending payment.
Pausing a Subscription
- If you want to pause an active subscription, simply, click on the subscription and hit pause.
- A pop up will ask you if you want to pause this subscription today or on a specific date in the future. Click on ‘Pause Subscription’. Now this plan will be automatically paused on the selected date.
Canceling a Subscription
- To cancel a subscription, simply click on it and then hit ‘Cancel’.
- A pop up box will confirm if you want to cancel it immediately or on a specific date in the future. Then confirm ‘Cancel Subscription’. This subscription will automatically be canceled on the selected date.
Updating a Subscription
- Select the subscription you want to update. In this case, let’s update the monthly plan to a weekly one.
- Click on the ‘Upgrade/Downgrade’ button.
- You can see the active plan tied to this subscription. Scroll down to see the available plans.
- Add the plan you wish to modify this subscription with by clicking on the cart icon.
4. Click on the ‘Remove’ button to remove the old plan. Or keep both.
- Add a coupon if applicable and click ‘Update Subscription’.
- The system asks if you want this change to be applied immediately or on the next billing date. Click ‘Update Subscription’.
- Your subscription has successfully been modified. Charges will be automatically prorated.
- View your weekly plan subscription in your list of active subscriptions.
That is how customers can create new subscriptions and pause, modify and cancel their subscriptions through the customer portal.
