The Coupon Summary Report provides insights into how discounts and promotional coupons are being applied across your subscriptions. This report helps you track the financial impact of coupons, evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, and understand how discounts influence overall subscription revenue.
What is the Coupon Summary Report?
The Coupon Summary Report consolidates all coupon-related data into one view. It shows:
Total value of discounts applied over a specific period
Breakdown of discounts by coupon code or campaign
The number of subscriptions and customers using coupons
The financial impact of one-time and recurring coupons
This gives you a complete picture of how coupons affect your revenue flow and customer behavior.
Why is the Coupon Summary Report Important?
For subscription-based businesses, coupons are often used to drive signups, reward loyalty, or encourage upgrades. However, uncontrolled discounting can reduce profitability.
The Coupon Summary Report helps you:
Evaluate campaign effectiveness — measure how much revenue was discounted due to each coupon.
Track recurring vs. one-time coupons — understand whether discounts are temporary or permanent.
Monitor coupon usage trends — identify which codes are most frequently applied.
Ensure healthy margins — balance acquisition incentives against long-term revenue.
Investors, finance teams, and product managers can all use this report to make informed decisions about pricing strategies and promotions.
Example 1: Recurring Coupons
If you have 50 customers paying $100 per month, and you apply a recurring 10% coupon, the report will show a total discount impact of $500 per month.
Example 2: One-Time Coupons
If you apply a one-time $20 coupon to 30 subscriptions, the report will show a total discount impact of $600 for that period.
