How to Offer Coupons

SubscriptionFlow allows you to create coupons for your products to attract customers with exciting promotions.

How to Create Coupons

To create coupons, follow these steps:

1. Login to the admin portal.

2. Go to the dashboard and click on “Coupons”. If you don't see it in the NavBar you can press the setting button (Gear Icon) and move it from Hidden modules to Visible modules

It displays a list of all the coupons that have already been created in your system.

The Filter Button on the left can be used to filter the coupons according to your preferences:

• Code
• Name
• Availability
• Available From
• Available To
• Discount Type
• Discount Value
• Status
• Plans Type
• Apply On Onetime
• Apply On Recurring
• Apply On Usage
• Created At
• Created By
• Assigned To

3. To create a coupon, click on the “+ Create Coupon” button on the right.

The following information needs to be filled in to create a coupon

• Name* - coupon name
• Code - coupon code to be applied
• Discount Type - select it as Percentage or Discounted
• Duration type - how long this coupon is to be applied to a subscription, i.e. forever, one-time or limited period
• Availability*  -  time when the coupon is available for use
• Plans type - apply on all plans or specific plan
• Maximum redemption - maximum number of times this coupon can be redeemed; for unlimited use can be left empty 
• Description - any additional information about the coupon

You can enable or disable the following three checkboxes according to the promotion specification.

• Apply on Onetime: The coupon is applicable just one time.
• Apply on Recurring: The coupon is available all time when a payment is made.
• Apply on Usage: The coupon applies on a usage basis.

After filling in all the information, click “Save”.

When the coupon is created, you will see a consolidated view of all the details and the plans associated with that coupon. 

How to Use a Coupon

To implement a coupon you would need to create a new subscription/modify an existing one, choose the plan and product, and apply coupons.

Here is the overall pricing before the implementation of the coupon.

The overall pricing after the implementation of the coupon has automatically been adjusted as per the discounts specified in the coupons.

After a subscription has been made with the applied coupon, on the invoice against the subscription, under Products & Plans, you will see the charges and amounts with respect to the discount applied.

Moreover, you can view the coupon status as to how many coupons have been used by going to the coupon detail page. 

How to Edit a Coupon

To edit a coupon, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the ‘Coupons’ section from the Navbar.

2. Click the “Edit” icon against the coupon.

You can make modifications in the fields where you want and click save.
